Guide — Countmark
Countmark answers the question everyone asks as a big day approaches: how many days until it arrives?
What is this?
Countmark is a free countdown-card generator. Pick a celebration from our curated list — Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, Easter and more — and you get a live, ticking countdown showing exactly how many days, hours, minutes and seconds are left.
You can also count down to any date you choose with the date picker. There is no account, no app to install, and nothing to download to use it. The countdown number is computed in your browser from the current time, so it is always accurate for you.
How to use it
- Open the home page. You’ll see a grid of upcoming celebrations, each one already counting down in real time.
- Tap any card to open a full-screen countdown card, where the seconds keep ticking.
- Want a date of your own? Use the “any date” picker at the bottom of the grid — the label updates automatically, so no typing is ever needed.
- Share the moment. Every event has its own link you can send to a friend.
Tips
- Countdowns are best shared at a milestone — “100 days to Christmas!” lands harder than a random Tuesday.
- The number counts whole calendar days, so the day of the event itself reads “It’s today!” — that’s correct, not a bug.
- Count in your own timezone. The countdown uses your device’s clock, so it always matches the calendar where you are.
- Keep a tab open and the seconds tick on their own — no refresh needed.
- If an event is still months away, the hours and minutes are still live; the days number is the headline.
FAQ
Is Countmark free? Yes — completely. It is supported by ads, so you never pay anything.
Do I need an account? No. There is no sign-up and nothing is saved about you.
How does it know the date of each event? Each event’s date comes from our own calendar of fixed and verified holidays, not from anything you enter.
Why does the number differ from a friend in another timezone? The countdown runs in your local timezone, so around the final day two people on opposite sides of the world can briefly see a different number. The event date itself never changes.
Can I count down to a past date? No — the date picker only allows today or later, and a reached event simply celebrates with “It’s here!”.
